The Migration Department of Georgia's Interior Ministry arrested and expelled 26 citizens of various countries in June for illegal residence, the body said on Tuesday.

The Department deported citizens of Iran, Pakistan, Jordan, Iraq, Russia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Nigeria, India and other states who had entered the country and resided without a legal status.

Some of the individuals left Georgia “voluntarily”, it added, while others were forcibly expelled based on “measures taken” by the Department.
