Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi has been nominated among the “most desirable destinations in Europe” by the British publication Wanderlust, the Adjara Tourism Department said on Friday.
The magazine, known for its focus on adventure and cultural travel, has listed Batumi at the top of its compilation of 40 European tourist cities, while also including Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi.
Readers have been invited to cast their votes on the Wanderlust website until October 18, with results to be announced at the Wanderlust Travel Awards on November 6.
Founded in 1993, the magazine is highly regarded for its “exceptional” photography and “comprehensive” travel guides, the Department said.
