Georgia ranks second in world for money prizes awarded to Paralympic champions

Georgia ranks second in the world regarding the money prize awarded to Paralympic champions, as according to the American TV channel CNBC only Singapore is ahead of the country for financial awards set for the athletes for winning medals at the ongoing Paralympic Summer Games in Paris. 

It already revealed that the Georgian Government set ₾1.0 million ($371,595) for the para athlete champions, as in the piece of CNBC, which is based on information obtained from the Olympic Committees of various countries, Singapore will give $380,000 to it’s Paralympic champions. Also Israel comes third by giving $273,000 to their winners and Malaysia takes the fourth place for rewarding $230,000. 

The two Georgian para athletes have claimed two medals, one gold and one bronze at the ongoing Paralympic Games so far. 

The national team competes with 14 athletes in six sports.

The Paralympic Games in Paris bring together around 4,000 athletes from 180 countries to compete in 549 medal events across 22 sports.
