A total of ₾1.92 million ($713,178) will be allocated as bonuses for the athletes of Georgia’s armwrestling and para-armwrestling team who earned medals at the recently concluded World Championship, the Administration of the Government announced on Wednesday.
The winners of the top spots at the Championship will receive ₾17,000 ($6,308), while the second place earners will be awarded ₾8,500 ($3,154), and the those who finished third will receive ₾5,100 ($1,892).
For the youth team, the bonuses are set at ₾5,100 for the eventual winners, ₾3,400 ($1,261) for those who claimed second place and ₾1,700 ($630.85) for athletes finishing third, the Administration.
Additionally, winners of the top step of the men’s armwrestling youth team will also receive a ₾3,400 prize money.
Coaches and medical staff will also receive bonuses as part of the decision.
The competition was hosted between August 15-25 in Chișinău, Moldova, with the Georgian team claiming 96 medals.
