The United Water Supply Company of Georgia on Friday said it was implementing six projects aimed at rehabilitating and constructing water supply systems in the western Guria region, with a total cost of ₾115 million ($42.60mln).
The body added one of the projects was currently in an “active phase” in the city of Ozurgeti as part of which a new reservoir, wells, pumping stations and metering nodes were under construction to revitalise the existing network and provide uninterrupted water supply to the residents.
Additionally, construction works in two districts of Kvemo Natanebi village – Naruja and Tsiteli Skhivi – were nearing completion, the company said. With a total investment of ₾48 million ($17.78mln) from the state budget, the project is expected to benefit over 20,000 people with round-the-clock water supply upon its scheduled completion by the end of 2025.
Water supply networks have been updated in the villages of Tskhemlishkhidi, Dvabzu, and Mshvidobauri of the Ozurgeti municipality as part of a ₾10 million ($3.70mln) Government-funded project.
The Company said it aimed to complete ongoing projects in the Guria region by 2026, ensuring over 40,000 beneficiaries in the region will have access to a continuous water supply that “meets modern standards”.
