Georgian Amelioration on Thursday said the World Bank had praised a land reclamation reforms of the country in a meeting that discussed regulations approved for supply of irrigation water by the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, tariff methodology and more.
Georgian Amelioration said the discussion also involved reflecting operational costs in tariffs, as Ranu Sinha, the Chief Specialist of Water resources Management at the World Bank, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the reforms in the country’s irrigation sector.
As a representative of the World Bank, I can see the important steps that Georgia has taken to implement changes and improve the efficiency of the water supply sector for farmers. We are prepared and willing to support Georgia in every possible way”, Sinha said.
The meeting also saw a proposal of mechanisms by the World Bank experts to balance the company’s income with operational expenses.
