Georgian Education Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari and Didier Trebucq, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the country, on Friday discussed the ongoing reforms in the education system, at preschool, general, professional and higher education levels, the Ministry of Education said.
At the introductory meeting, the Minister highlighted “the years-long fruitful cooperation” with the UN and several important programmes carried out in recent years within the partnership.
The UN Resident Coordinator “positively” assessed the current reforms in the education system and promised the Minister “full support” in the implementation of new initiatives.
Amilakhvari congratulated Trebucq on his appointment to the new position and expressed his gratitude to the UN for supporting the development of education in Georgia.
