Customs officers of the Georgian Revenue Service seized about ₾655,597 ($241,492) in undeclared money at the Sarpi border crossing checkpoint with Turkey in the south-west of the country and Red Bridge border crossing between Azerbaijan in the south-east between July 7-28.
The Service revealed the statistics on Monday, adding the officers had seized €2,900, $59,407 and ₽7,265,700 from foreign citizens following personal, luggage and vehicle searches.
The individuals were fined ₾65,560 ($24,149) for the offence, the state body added.
