Customs officers of the Georgian Revenue Service seized about $18,060,000 in undeclared money at Batumi and Kutaisi airports in Georgia’s west and the northern Kazbegi Customs Checkpoint, the state service announced on Friday.
The Service said it had seized $134,000, €45,000 and ₽111,328,000 from foreign citizens, with the total sum reaching ₾48,203,439 ($18,157,329).
The foreign citizens were fined about about ₾4,820,343 (about $1,805,980) as a penalty for the offence, the state body added.
