Tea Tsulukiani, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Sport, on Friday said she expected the Georgian national symbols would be seen and performed “as often as possible” at the Paris Olympics to mark anticipated success for athletes from the country.

Tsulukiani noted Georgia had enjoyed its best results at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, before adding “now there is expectation that the Olympians will have better results at the Paris Olympics”.

We expect a lot of gold medals and medals of all kinds, and we expect the Georgian flag to be on the pedestal as many times as possible and the Georgian anthem to be performed as often as possible. The Government, the Ministry, the federations, the Olympic Committee and each athlete have done everything for this”, she said.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris on Friday.

Kobakhidze said the Georgian team had “every starting point to win as many medals as possible and have more champions” at the Games.
