The United States-based National Democratic Institute on Wednesday launched its international nonpartisan long-term election assessment mission for Georgia’s parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.
The Institute team, consisting of five long-term analysts and a Mission Director, will remain in Georgia through November, the NDI said.
Their mission aims to assess key electoral themes and contribute to “strengthening Georgia’s electoral process”.
During their stay, the team will focus on political campaigns, election administration, media and information space and issues related to gender and inclusion.
They will engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including government representatives, electoral authorities such as the Central Election Commission, political parties, civic organisations and media.
