Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, on Thursday  visited the Georgian stand for the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival ahead of the event’s launch in London this weekend.

The Administration said “thousands of participants” would learn about exhibits of the UNESCO Cultural Heritage in the country and its traditions, including the 8,000-year-old winemaking history, at the stand.

Four sessions of masterclasses of wine and food from the country will be delivered at the event and include wine tasting and a kitchen show, the body added, noting Georgian chefs and sommeliers would introduce traditional and modern dishes and wine to visitors.

Popular chefs Guram Bagdoshvili and Tekuna Gachechiladze will introduce traditional and modern Georgian dishes to visitors of the festival, while Irakli Cholobargia, a representative of the National Wine Agency, will organise a tasting of Georgian wine.

Administration representatives will also participate in special meetings and discussions at the festival that is organised annually since 2019 and hosts prominent chefs and culinary experts from the world sharing the international cuisine and culture.

The gastronomic event is expected to welcome 50 organisations and companies, 60 chefs, speakers, authors and over 6,000 visitors in London.
