m&i Forum, an event for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism industry, on Thursday concluded in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi, with international attendees sharing their positive impressions of the country and its business tourism potential.
Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, said the Forum received positive feedback from participants.
The Forum had about 200 participants [...] visited Georgia to get to know the country’s opportunities and to enable Georgia to occupy a place as a destination where business tourism can develop at a very high level. They visited the infrastructure, hotels, wineries both in Tbilisi and in other places to assess Georgia’s ability to host world-class international events”, she said.
Event participant Zsuzsanna Nagy-Barta from Hungary expressed enthusiasm about the potential for m&i Tbilisi to showcase Georgia’s business tourism offerings to a global audience.
Georgia has a lot to offer both small and large tour groups who want to discover the beautiful country. It is very nice that there are direct flights between Budapest and Kutaisi”, she said.
Another participant, Arun Bablani, the Founder of Vivaah Weddings in Dubai, shared his positive outlook on the event, emphasising its importance in fostering partnerships and connections.
We are organisers of high-level weddings worldwide. I am very happy to be in Georgia, which is a beautiful and historic location [...] I expect to find many clients here through the m&i Forum and I am ready to attract many people to Georgia”, he said.
Launched on Monday, the event was attended by 83 local and international companies offering tourist services and brought together participants for 40 guaranteed meetings over three days in a B2B format in the city.
During the event, international attendees had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the country’s business tourism opportunities, its tourist infrastructure and engage with local tourism sector representatives to establish potential business relations.
