Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia on Wednesday said Euro-Atlantic integration was “one of the most important directions” of the country's foreign policy, noting the ongoing participation of a Georgian delegation in “all events” at the NATO Summit in Washington.

The Deputy Minister noted a number of bilateral meetings had been held by the Georgian delegation during the first day of the bloc’s Summit to discuss “important directions and topics” of Georgia and NATO.

One of the important events was the reception held by US President Biden [on Tuesday], that  was an opportunity to discuss different issues of relations with the host and various partner countries, and crucial issues and important directions of the cooperation were discussed”, he said.

Darsalia added the Summit’s “main events” would be held on Wednesday during which the alliance member and partner countries would participate including Georgia and give the opportunity to present the country’s positions, exchange opinions with partner countries and discuss the further cooperation.

Darsalia concluded the “main task” of Georgia’s foreign policy remained its Euro-Atlantic integration, adding the work would have the country’s membership in the bloc as its “final result”.
