Georgia’s NATO Ambassador Victor Dolidze on Tuesday said the country was the “most reliable”, “loyal” and “closest” partner for the bloc, adding Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili would discuss issues related to the state with his counterparts at the Summit in Washington this week.
Darchiashvili on Monday left for the US to attend the Summit, set to take place between Tuesday and Thursday.
Georgia is the most reliable, loyal and closest partner of NATO. We have proven this many times over the years, and at the same time, we are one of the largest contributors to the strengthening of international security and have made very big sacrifices. Therefore, it is natural that the issue of Georgia, as such, is always on the agenda at the highest level”, Dolidze said.
The Georgian diplomat further added the work related to a political declaration of the Summit had not yet been completed, adding it would not be as comprehensive as in previous editions of the gathering considering this year's Summit was an anniversary meeting.
He also noted Darchiashvili would attend events held on behalf of the President of the United States Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
