Georgian weightlifters become European vice champions at Youth Weightlifting Championships

Georgian weightlifters Revaz Mildiani and Leri Neparidze this week become European vice champions in the 67 kg weight category at the Under-17 European Youth Weightlifting Championships in Greece.

Mildiani earned a bronze medal in snatch, lifting 115, 119 and 121 kg, while he also overcame 142 and 146 kg in clean and jerk to claim bronze. The athlete’s total of 267 kg earned him a silver.

Neparidze took seventh place at the competition after lifting 109 kg in the snatch, while his 143, 147 and 150 kg in clean and jerk won him a silver. His combined total of 259 kg also meant he ended up sixth in the section.

The contest is set to end on Sunday.
