Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is hosting a World Para Powerlifting World Cup featuring 600 para-athletes and delegates from 71 countries, including multiple World and European champions, the country’s Paralympic Committee said on Thursday.
The tournament, organised by the Committee, also involves 22 para-athletes of the Georgian national team - 16 men and six women - competing in relevant weight categories.
The event, set to end on June 26, represents the last licence tournament for the Paris Paralympic Games, which is scheduled to run between August 28 and September 8.
