Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said “difficulties” between the authorities of the two countries were being caused by “specific decisions” by the Ukrainian Government.
In his comments to the media at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, Kobakhidze cited Ukraine’s recalling of its Ambassador from Georgia in 2022 and expulsion of the Georgian Ambassador from the country.
These were not correct steps, but they will not stop us from striving to provide maximum assistance to the Ukrainian people”, the PM said in reference to Ukrainian nationals stranded in Georgia after Russia's ongoing military aggression in their country.
The Conference, scheduled between Tuesday and Wednesday, aims to garner international support for Ukraine’s recovery, reconstruction, reforms and modernisation.
It will focus on mobilising the private sector for recovery and economic growth, social recovery and human capital for Ukraine’s future, restoration of municipalities and regions, and accession to the European Union and related reforms.
