Georgian wheelchair fencers Irma Khetsuriani and Nina Tibilashvili on Friday claimed silver and bronze medals at the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup held in São Paulo, Brazil.
Tibilashvili lost the final against her Chinese counterpart Haiyan Gu in women's Sabre category A with a score of 8:15 to earn the silver.
Khetsuriani earned a bronze after losing the semi-final against China’s Kang Su 13:15 in women's Sabre category B.
The Georgian squad, which also includes Gvantsa Zadishvili, will also compete in the team programme for the competition, running through Sunday.
The World Cup in São Paulo is the concluding tournament for the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympic Games, scheduled between 28 August-8 September.
