Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday “strongly” condemned “the brutal and reckless attack” on his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico, who was shot multiple times earlier today after a government meeting in Handlova.

Our thoughts are with him and the people of Slovakia during this challenging time”, the Georgian PM noted.

According to the media reports, after an assassination attempt, Fico received wounds to his head and chest and is in “a life-threatening condition”.

The Slovakian PM’s alleged assailant was detained by the police.
