Georgian, Panamanian FMs review bilateral relations, foreign political agenda

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Panamanian counterpart Janaina Tewaney Mencomo on Friday reviewed the bilateral relations and foreign political agenda of Georgia and Panama, as well as the countries’ development and economic situation.

At the meeting, Panamanian FM welcomed the Georgian counterpart’s first visit to the country, with the officials stressing the importance of “friendly ties” between the two states to better develop investment and trade relations, the Foreign Ministry said.

The sides expressed interest in activating the mechanism of political consultations in order to identify and activate potential areas of cooperation and agreed to maintain high-level communication to bring the two countries even closer.

Darchiashvili also briefed his counterpart about Georgia’s progress on the European Union integration path.
