Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday met Malik Murzalin, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the country, to discuss bilateral relations, the legislative body said.

The parties noted “growing dynamics” in trade and investments and highlighted the importance of cooperation between the two countries on the backdrop of the growing role of the Middle Corridor, a logistics route connecting Central Asia and China to Europe via the South Caucasus.

Murzalin briefed Papuashvili about reforms implemented in Kazakhstan over the recent years.

The officials also discussed the Parliament Speaker’s planned visit to Kazakhstan along with his delegation, with the Ambassador noting the “historic importance” of the visit, adding it would give a “new impetus” to the development of relations between the two countries.
