Latvian and Slovenian foreign ministers on Tuesday vowed their support for Georgia’s European integration.
Krišjānis Kariņš, the Latvian top diplomat, said the country expected “further” advancement of Georgia as an EU membership candidate country.
We know that the process is based on merit. Today the picture in the world is becoming black and white. In Europe, Russia is on one side and the European Union on the other side, and we see what is happening in Ukraine. We want the bond of values to grow and that is why we support the enlargement of the European Union”, Kariņš said.
In her turn, the Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon noted that the future of Georgia was “in the European Union”.
The official added Georgia’s further advancement in integration depended on the reforms.
