The Government of Georgia on Monday discussed ongoing preparations for hosting the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Tbilisi in May.

A commission established for organising the meeting in the city emphasised the importance of successfully hosting the event at a meeting in the Government Administration on Monday.

The meeting noted hosting the forum would contribute to promotion of Georgia’s investment and tourism opportunities.

Set to be hosted in Georgia for the first time, the 57th annual meeting will feature 4,000 participants and guests, including Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Bank, its Vice Presidents and Executive Directors, between May 2-5.

Delegations from 68 member countries, international financial institutions, the private sector, civil society as well as international and domestic media will be present at the event.
