Georgia’s hosting of next year’s Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank will run under the theme Bridge to the Future, as revealed at an event marking the transfer of the Host Country status from Korea to Georgia at this year’s gathering in Incheon, South Korea, on Friday.
ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa explained the connection between the next Host Country and the 2024 theme, saying “Georgia is a vibrant hub for regional trade — and a crucial bridge between Asia and Europe”.
The 2024 Annual Meeting will provide an important opportunity to showcase the country’s rich heritage and tremendous potential”, he added.
ADB has announced Tbilisi, Georgia, as the host of its 57th #ADBAnnualMeeting to be held from 2 to 5 May 2024.

It will be the first time for the country to host the bank’s main event of the year.

In his comments, the Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, who will head the ADB Board of Directors over the next year, added “we can jointly build the Bridge to the Brighter Future”.

Over 300 people were hosted at the event for the official handover of the status, with Georgian national dance and song ensembles entertaining the guests.
In the 2024 Meeting, thousands of participants - including finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, private sector, representatives of international and civil society organisations, youth, academia and the media - will gather in Tbilisi.
