Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia, on Thursday said there was “only one team” in the Georgian Dream political faction.
A session of the Congress of the ruling party on Thursday elected Irakli Garibashvili, the outgoing Prime Minister who announced his resignation on Monday, as the party’s new Chair, while nominating incumbent GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze as his replacement.
[On] speculations regarding the existence of [the so-called] Garibashvili's team, [or] Kobakhidze's team [within the party] - there is only one team, it is the Georgian Dream political team. In the future, the Government team will not be the team of Irakli Kobakhidze, but the political team of the Georgian Dream party. This personification is an empty speculation”, Kobakhidze said.
He added a 10-month Government programme would be submitted to the Parliament on Friday, and noted “after we win the parliamentary elections” his team would present an updated four-year plan.
