Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday claimed a “radical agenda” was being planned by the domestic opposition ahead of the parliamentary elections in October.

In an interview with Imedi TV, Papuashvili said a part of the opposition was “only engaged in certain theatrical performances” and added it was in a “constant boycott mode”.

[I]t seems from all signs that the development of a radical agenda is being planned, that our citizens should be prepared for this. We will offer voters a very meaningful, substantive election campaign, where we will talk about goals, ideas, just like in 2020 [elections]”, the chief Georgian legislator said.

Papuashvili also claimed the opposition “still has nothing to say except for one or two selected topics”, and further pointed out that “they are not involved in any [Parliamentary] discussions at all”.
