Georgian FM to participate in UN Human Rights Council session

More than 100 heads of state and ministers, including the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, will take part in a United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva starting on Monday.

Darchiashvili will address the participants of the high-level segment of the Council, and will also hold meetings with the UN commissioners for human rights and refugees, the Georgian foreign service said.

The session of the Geneva-based Council will discuss matters ranging from the human rights situation in Ukraine to more general discussions and annual reviews.

Panel discussions at the event will review “human rights mainstreaming”, the rights of persons with disabilities, and more.

The session will run through Saturday.
