Gov’t Administration Head highlights PM’s UAE summit message on “important” domestic economic reforms

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday highlighted “important” economic reforms implemented in the country over the recent years in his address at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Government Administration, said.
Javelidze, who is accompanying the PM in his Summit participation, stressed Georgia had been represented at the event as “one of the successful countries”, adding the Government had a “desire and interest” in developing economic ties with the UAE.
He said along with the country’s “double-digit-economic growth” - which he said had been achieved despite existing regional and global challenges on the backdrop of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict - the PM had also raised “strategic projects of regional importance” that were being implemented or planned.
Javelidze said these included “several infrastructural, energy and logistics projects” being carried out in the country with the participation of foreign partners.
Garibashvili arrived in Dubai on Sunday to attend the event that is bringing together world leaders, global experts and decision-makers from around the globe to share and contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models for shaping future governments.
The Summit is scheduled to close on Wednesday.
Deepening of cooperation and boosting of economic ties and connectivity between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday told the World Government Summit in Dubai his Government had managed to maintain the country’s economic stability despite the “grave geopolitical situation” and challenges in the wider region, as well as “declining global economic prospects” in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Paata Kalandadze, the Georgian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, on Monday said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili had been given an “exclusive opportunity” to brief the ongoing World Government Summit in Dubai about the achievements of his country.
The Georgian Government has approved several important strategic documents, including the 2023 Action Plan on the Development Strategy of Georgia and the 2023-2026 Strategy of the Public Administration Reform of the country, along with the latter’s accompanying Action Plan for 2023-2024.
Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Administration of the Georgian Government, on Friday noted the Government’s goal of establishing a “sustainable public service” in the country, in comments for an event dedicated to the United Nations Public Service Day.
