Deepening of cooperation and boosting of economic ties and connectivity between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
Hosted during the ongoing World Government Summit in Dubai, the meeting saw Garibashvili thank his counterpart for the “successful” holding of the event and emphasise the importance of Georgia's participation, the Government Administration said.
Garibashvili noted he had the opportunity to present the country's potential as a “regional connector” between the East and the West at the Summit.
The meeting also noted the “dynamic” cooperation between Georgia and the UAE, with the officials pointing out it was important to further deepen the “fruitful cooperation” in economy.

The head of the Georgian Government introduced the country’s “favourable” investment environment to his counterpart and emphasised the importance of attracting Arab investments.
One of the main priorities of the Georgian Government is to use its favourable geographical location and business climate to strengthen its transit function. Close cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates to promote digital connectivity between Europe and Asia through their territories is important”, Garibashvili said.
Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Georgian Government Administration, signed a memorandum between the two countries on the sharing of experience in development and modernisation of state governance with officials of the Cabinet Affairs of the UAE.
