The European Commission’s recommendation to the European Council to grant the country the European Union membership candidate status was discussed on Friday at a meeting of the EU Integration Commission of Georgia led by the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The meeting noted the decision as an “important step forward” on the country’s European integration path, with participants vowing to pursue related reforms, the Government Administration said.
The members of the Commission discussed the implementation of the recommendations set out by the European Commission and the coordinated work of various agencies in this process.
The meeting also focused on specific steps to be taken in order for the Government to continue implementing reforms.
