A delegation of the European Union and member states ambassadors for Eastern Partnership will be on a visit to Georgia from Monday to Wednesday to hold high-level meetings, the Georgian foreign office said on Monday.

Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and members of the Government will hold a meeting with the delegation.

The ambassadors will also visit the occupation line that separates the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the rest of the country.

In a statement over the visit, the foreign office noted it was coming at the “most important” stage of the country’s accession to the European Union.

The ambassadors will have the opportunity to learn about reforms implemented or ongoing in the country, and the “significant” results achieved in the process, the Ministry noted.
