The Georgian Border Police on Friday arrested three foreign nationals and one Georgian citizen for illegal crossing of the state border with Turkey in the south-west of the country, the state body said.
The Interior Ministry said the individuals had been apprehended near “secure areas” of the Sarpi and Kartsakhi crossing points. .
An investigation found the offenders had avoided border control and were attempting to cross the two border points.
The crime is punishable up to five years in prison.
