Georgia’s Border Police on Tuesday said it had arrested a group of five individuals for an attempt of illegal crossing of the state border in the country’s south-west.
The department said the group had made the attempt to bypass the Vale customs checkpoint on the border in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
The arrested include three citizens of Türkiye and two Bangladeshi nationals who were arrested during the attempt to cross the boundary from Türkiye.
Border Police said the offenders were set to face up to five years in prison.
