The agenda of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats between Georgia and Moldova and “traditionally friendly relations” between the countries were discussed on Tuesday by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Oleg Serebrian, the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
The conversation touched upon the implementation of the policy of peaceful resolution of the conflicts and reconciliation on the territories of Georgia and Moldova, with Darchiashvili stressing the “severe” humanitarian and social conditions in the occupied territories of Georgia, the Foreign Ministry said.
The difficult security environment in Europe, the challenges facing the two countries and ways to overcome them were discussed by Georgian and Moldovan officials. They “once again” confirmed the “unwavering mutual support” for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two states.
The meeting also focused on the steps taken by Georgia and Moldova on the European Union integration path and future prospects in this direction.
