Cooperation between defence committees of Georgian and Swedish parliaments, security of the Euro-Atlantic space and the Black Sea region were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between a Georgian parliamentary delegation led by Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Defence and Security Committee of the lawmaking body, and Peter Hultqvist, the Defence Committee Chair of the Swedish Parliament.
Hosted in Stockholm, the meeting also covered the current situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) as well as Sweden’s support for the country’s NATO integration path, the Georgian Parliament said.

The officials also pointed out the importance of deepening the defence partnership between the two countries.
Beraia extended his gratitude to Hultqvist for Sweden’s support in strengthening Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, Euro-Atlantic integration and defence capabilities.
