The current situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) and matters of regional security environment were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Defence and Security Committee, and members of the Swedish delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
In his comments Beraia said the sides discussed Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and progress achieved as part of the process.
He added the meeting also reviewed the existing cooperation between the two countries in defence and security, noting directions for further deepening and strengthening the ties were also covered.
The meeting was also attended by Anna Lyberg, the Ambassador of Sweden to Georgia.
