A delegation from Georgian Railway joined counterparts from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Romania on Sunday in the Kazakh port city of Aktau to discuss the project of the Middle Corridor of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, aimed to connect supply chains and logistics between China and Europe.

The participants of the meeting reviewed the outcomes of the first eight months of this year and the challenges identified during the shipments carried out under the conditions of the new geopolitical situation, the Georgian Railway said.

The parties also discussed a mutual cooperation document to optimise the shipping terms in the middle corridor, as well as an agreement to ensure the stability of the operation of feeder ships in the Caspian Sea.

The Georgian Railway noted that the conversation also touched on the digitisation of the processes of receiving and exchanging information on the location of containers.
