Daniel Suciu, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, on Monday said political cooperation between his country and Georgia was at an “all-time high”, in a meeting with the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in Bucharest.

He also expressed hopes the “negative differentiation” between Georgia and two other members of the European Union’s Associated Trio - Ukraine and Moldova - by European Union bodies working on the three states’ membership applications would be removed, and Tbilisi would obtain the bloc’s membership candidate status later this year to continue membership talks.
The discussion also involved efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, security challenges on the backdrop of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and the importance to further enhance Black Sea connectivity capabilities, the Parliament press office said.
Papuashvili also briefed the official on his Government's efforts to meet the EU candidacy conditions.
