Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Tuesday participated in a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany to discuss the circumstances created by the ongoing war in Ukraine and the needs for coordinated military assistance to Ukraine.
Officials involved in the gathering discussed Ukraine's short-term and long-term needs, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
The Ukraine Contact Group was established last year at the initiative of the United States and brings together more than 50 countries supporting Ukraine during its self-defence from the ongoing invasion by Russia.
A Georgian delegation chaired by the country’s Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Tuesday joined more than 50 top military officials from NATO member and allied states in Brussels to discuss assistance to Ukraine amid its ongoing defence from the Russian invasion.
Georgian Vice Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze on Thursday said Georgia “has been doing its utmost” to support Ukraine amid the ongoing war and wished the latter the “return of the peaceful days soon” and restoration of territorial integrity.
