Georgian officials on Saturday sent their condolences to the people of Morocco in wake of the devastating earthquake that killed at least 1037 people.
In a message posted on social media, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said “our thoughts are with the victims' families” and wished a “swift”recovery to those injured.

The Georgian foreign office said it was “shocked” to hear of the deadly earthquake in Morocco.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Moroccan people. We wish full recovery to all those affected. Georgia stands with you in these extremely difficult times!”, the statement said.

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on Friday struck central Morocco, killing at least 1037 people. The epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains, 71 km south-west of Marrakesh, at a depth of 18.5 km.
