The Emergency Management Service of Georgia has received firefighting equipment within the United Nations Development Programme project aiming to support sustainable and climate-friendly forest management practices in the country.

The state body said on Friday modern fire-extinguishing backpacks and an all-terrain vehicle had been handed over to its Mtskheta-Mtianeti division administering the eastern region.

In its comments, the Service highlighted the significance of equipping firefighters with modern standards for their work.
