Cooperation between Georgia and Israel in “various fields” was discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Amir Ohana, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset.
The meeting highlighted Garibashvili’s “successful” visit to Israel in August, the Government Administration said, adding the PM noted his Government attached “great importance” to the development of “friendly and mutually beneficial” cooperation with Israel.
The Government head also referred to today's meeting between Georgian and Israeli chief legislators by saying he was welcoming the “intensification” of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the countries.
The officials also reviewed cooperation in economy, which they assessed as being characterised by “growing dynamics”, and expressed their “readiness” to deepen the existing “fruitful” cooperation in the direction.
Garibashvili also stressed the conclusion of ongoing talks for signing a free trade agreement between the two countries would open up “new opportunities” for both sides.
