Infrastructure projects and social programmes for population in regions across Georgia were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and local governors appointed by the Government.
Garibashvili inquired about the ongoing support payments to households who were affected by the damage caused by a period of adverse weather earlier this month, the Government Administration said.
The Government has allocated ₾19,695,000 ($7,445,969) for the mitigation of the consequences of the heavy snowfall, low temperatures and strong winds that hit the municipalities for consecutive days and damaged residential and public facilities and infrastructure.
In addition, ₾1,470,000 ($555,641) has been designated from the Government's reserve fund in direct support payments for communities in the localities.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of the Regional Renovation Programme that has seen 564 buildings completely renovated, engineering networks adjusted and 92 parks and squares renovated and built across the country.
The officials also discussed the state programme offering public employment to vulnerable groups, under which over 30,000 socially vulnerable citizens have been employed so far.
