Georgian PM, Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly President discuss cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Francis Drouin, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, on Thursday discussed cooperation between the country and the Assembly, with the latter holding its annual plenary session in Tbilisi.

The importance of ties in culture and education was also emphasised at the meeting, held in the Government Administration, with the sides highlighting the cooperation of five Georgian universities with the Francophone University Agency.

 

The conversation also touched on the promotion of the French language in Georgia and the important role of the APF in the development of democracy and the protection of human rights, the Government Administration said.
