Cooperation between Georgia and Japan in various fields was discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the newly appointed Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki.
The officials reviewed the existing economic ties between the two countries and prospects of further deepening them, the Government Administration said.
The meeting also highlighted the “favourable” business environment in Georgia and the “active” work by authorities for attracting direct foreign investments.
The officials also discussed prospects of deepening cooperation in investment attraction, export promotion and small and medium business development.
Garibashvili thanked Hideki for Japan's “strong” support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
