The South Korean capital of Seoul has hosted 16 Georgian wine producer companies in a showcase of their products with the support of the United States Agency for International Development and the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture on Monday said the occasion marked the beginning of the US agency’s involvement in promoting Georgian wine as part of a memorandum signed between the USAID and the Georgian National Wine Agency.
The deal involves promotion of Georgian wine in South Korea, the US and Germany.
The event held in Seoul gave Georgian producers the opportunity to present their products to local wine professionals, wine importers and media representatives. Similar activities are one of the important factors contributing to the increase of Georgian wine export", Deputy Agriculture Minister Iuri Nozadze said.
Georgian Ambassador to Korea Tarash Papaskua said representatives from about 20 Korean companies attended the presentation and were interested in importing Georgian wine to the country.
