Cooperation in nuclear security and Georgia’s steps towards European integration were discussed on Friday in a meeting between Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Jill Hruby, the United States Undersecretary for Nuclear Security.
The Foreign Ministry said the parties reviewed the “long-standing” and “successful” cooperation between the two countries in nuclear security and non-proliferation, as well as a “wide range of topics” related to their strategic cooperation.
The meeting also covered the Georgian Government’s efforts and progress towards Euro-Atlantic and European integration.
Hruby confirmed the “firm support” of her Government for Georgia's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in the country’s Euro-Atlantic and European integration process, the Ministry added.
