Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze, who is on a visit to Brussels, on Thursday participated in a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at the NATO Headquarters.
The meeting took place in the framework of a ministerial of the alliance, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
Lloyd Austin, the United States Secretary of Defence, reviewed the situation created as a result of Russia's aggression in Ukraine, as well as the defence and training needs of the latter.
The participating defence ministers and military commanders also discussed the need for a “coordinated” military assistance to Ukraine in the war.
The Contact Group for Ukraine was established in April 2021, at the initiative of the United States, and unites more than 50 countries supporting Ukraine.
