Cooperation between Georgia and Liechtenstein in “various sectors” and deepening of parliamentary ties between them were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Dominique Hasler, Liechtenstein's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Hosted during Hasler’s official visit to Georgia, the meeting saw Papuashvili extend his gratitude for Liechtenstein's support for the country’s territorial integrity, including through its co-sponsoring of the UN General Assembly resolution on the status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Georgia's Russian-occupied regions, the press office of the Georgian Parliament said.
The meeting also focused on the possibilities of cooperation in education and science.
On her part, the visiting official noted the two countries were connected by “common” values, such as “respect for democracy, human rights and the principles of international law”.
She stressed that her country’s Government supported Georgia's European aspirations and was ready to share its experience as a member of the European Economic Area for Georgia’s convergence with EU legislation.
